Kia entered the United States auto market in 1993, and was acquired by the Hyundai Motor Company in 1998. In recent years, Kia has seen increased rankings in surveys of initial quality by J.D. Power and Associates. Kia builds a variety of vehicles, from affordable commuter cars such as the Rio, attractive luxury sedans, a spacious mini-van, as well as several four wheel drive sport-utility models. Even though Kia vehicles now have an excellent quality rating, they still offer an outstanding warranty: 5 years/60k miles bumper to bumper, and 10 years/100k miles powertrain.
